Colon
hydrotherapy was first practiced by the Egyptians in
1500 BC. It is an important component of any
detoxification program. The colon is your body's
sewage system. When not functioning properly, it will
affect your digestive system and every living cell and
organ in your body. By gently cleansing your colon of
impacted and putrefied waste mater, colonic irrigation
offers relief from a variety of disturbances.
Over the years, your colon walls can become encrusted
with un-eliminated waste, making its function
inefficient. The average person may have as much as 10
to 20 pounds of unnecessary weight that can be
eliminated through a series of colonic treatments. Colon
cleansing is safe and effective for all ages: children
and elderly alike.
The diet of people
living in our society is, on the whole, too full
of refined foods, saturated oils, and denatured
or chemical substances which puts a strain on
the whole body. Besides this, the stress of
modern living and the environment in which we
live are conducive to creating disorders which
place a great burden on the whole elimination
system of the body. This creates abnormal
conditions, which prevent the colon from working
properly. A colonic irrigation is done to clean
and restore it to its proper function.
Through years of
stress, improper diet, insufficient water,
insufficient exercise, overeating and ignoring
the call of nature, fecal waste will tend to
accumulate, resulting in impaction and
deposition of a hardened, “rubbery” crust along
the colon wall. This prevents proper absorption
of toxic material and the loss of muscle tone in
the colon. By cleansing, we assist the body in
removing these old waste products and toxins.
Many conditions that are caused by toxemia
(presence of toxins) can be improved by the use
of colonic irrigation therapy.
During a colonic, the person lies on a massage
table, which is draped, with either a clean
sheet or towel. A special, hygienic speculum is
gently inserted in the rectum. Water flows into
the colon via a small water tube and leaves the
colon via an evacuation tube as it carries out
excess, impacted fecal matter, gas, and mucus.
As the water leaves the colon, the therapist
gently massages the abdomen to help release its
contents. Water is allowed to enter the colon
gradually, a little at a time, so that waste is
cleared out before additional water enters. In
this manner, gradually increasing volumes of
water are used as waste matter is cleaned out,
until eventually the entire colon is clean. A
series of colonics is most often necessary to
dislodge hardened toxic waste. Quite often
herbal and dietary cleansing is suggested, which
work well with colonics.
